there would never be a day in your life that are the same... no two days are ever the same...
do you agree on that? i would... and today, i did the one thing that i had never done in my life... and i really mean never... and dat is to build a sandcastle...
"huh?"
i knew that would be the one thing in ur mind now... but before u start giving me any further 'huhs??' just read on to find out more...
it is my division's 'Corporate Retreat' this year... its a norm that such a day be held once every year... for this year, we proceeded down to East Coast Park to do the one thing that none of us would imagine...
negativity... dat was the mindset i came down with... ive never built a sandcastle before.. never even when i was a kid... (i was deprived of many things when i was a kid.. sad childhood eh?)... and now... being a 22 year old "kid"... what makes them thing i can even build one???
i started out being clueless... it was like someone throwing me into the sea for the first time and asking me to swim... a total 'blur-cock!' i would say... but as a group.. we got the hang of it.. we managed to build our foundations for the castle.... and slowly the castle was building up...
and after close to 3 hours of digging and building... mission accomplished!! our castle was up... and im not talking about those small little castles that kids build by the beach.. our castle was as high as my height!... ok.. maybe im exaggerating.. but ALMOST!
just too bad, i didnt bring along my camera to take a shot of what we had built... but nevertheless, the castle that we built was similar to the one above which i got from a blogger who had gone to the same place for the same purpose... [ photo courtesy from My Sanctuary ]
sandcastle building really tested our patience... and taught us never to give up... there would be times that u build and the tower would collapse... and each step u take is a learning process... it also helps to boost confidence... it also helps to promote team bonding and teamwork... and finally it is FUN! seriously...
a fun activity that can be done between families and friends..
if one of these days that u r free.. maybe you could go down to ECP, carpark E2.. and maybe u could catch a glimpse of people building gigantic castles over there...
try it one day and get in touch with the kid in you!
